I’m Dr. David G. Jones, but my friends call me “Dr J”.
I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Nebraska, College of Dentistry in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1979. During the summer school session following graduation I was a clinical instructor at the College of Dentistry. In the fall of 1979, my wife Debra and I moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma to begin practicing dentistry. In 1989, not wanting to practice 1960’s style dentistry, we built our new office to reflect the “state of the art” dentistry desired by our patients and have redecorated several times since.
I constantly take Continuing Education courses that focus on “How to give you better SMILES!” This includes post-graduate training focusing on musculoskeletal disorders; head, neck and facial pain disorders (TMJ/TMD); complex occlusal and restorative problems; orthodontics; jaw orthopedics; sleep apnea; and cosmetic dentistry.
I am one of the founding members of the North American Neuromuscular Study Club (NANSC) and past president. This is a rapidly growing group of like-minded professionals who are a source of support and inspiration for those that treat TMD and associated problems. I’ve lectured across the country on the use of computerized diagnostics in conjunction with ‘state of the art’ materials and have done in-office consulting in other dentists’ offices.
My hobbies include reading, gardening, computer graphic arts and photography (Photography by Dr J). Debra and I have 3 Labradors, 1 Great Pyrenees and 3 cats. I serve on several boards; Rotary, the Miss Rodeo USA Association, Muskogee Area Arts Council, the Muskogee Shutterbugs Club and Friends of Honor Heights Park. I have authored a photography coffee table book that is sold as a fundraiser for the Muskogee Area Arts Council.
